My android eyes bugged out a few times while watching, had a few laughs but overall inferior to the previous Thor movies. I think COVID may have placed a lot of pressure on studios to rush some movies after a two year mess from everyone all around. Chris Hemsworth is not to blame, mostly the screenwriters.
They overextended Natalie Portman’s character Jane Foster, from a humorous setup in Avengers Endgame where he is so bereft at the death of Loki, his father Odinson and half of his planet, the screenwriters went too far in trying to create a more believable continuity within the solo Thor quartet movies. I think the sparks would have been much livelier if the She-Thor was a new love interest or flirting girl, someone mysterious, unknown to viewers and Thor, who actually challenges the character rather than feed the “old flame rekindled” line which became drama/melodrama at the end.
Really disliked the ending and what they did with the Jane Foster character. Thor deserved a new love interest, cool Fonz has lots of chicks who fall for him, but the writers want Thor to be a nerd and a one woman man validating all the NERD stereotypes aside from being fat, bad at relationships and bad at love.
Thor Love & Thunder could have been a lot of new witty , sharper dialogue as he tries to unmask who would be so worthy they could handle and lift Moljnir. There could have been story threads to unveil in a possible next chapter.
There are so many other wobbly and feeble points in this film – overall feels rushed and unpolished.
