I used Google button to create my account with the Social Login feature and I saw my new account created but then I logged out and I tried logging in with the standard login form (above the social login) it wouldnt let me, I logged in using the Social Login with Google button and it logged me in, but then I tried again, I logged out and when I tried logging in with the standard login, it kept saying I had the wrong password.

So I clicked on Password Reset and it sent me an email message to my mailbox to reset the password. I reset it to my same password I use on my Google account and now I could login using both the standard login form and the Google button in the Social Login block.

I don’t understand why it would not recognize my password until I reset it. Can someone offer an explanation? Thank you.

I had the same problem but as soon as I contacted the staff they sent me a reset password message and it took care of the problem, its a little annoying but I guess its part of working out the wrinkles in a new membership

Apologies to members that may be confused by the multiple login systems we have at our sites.  The SOCIAL EXPRESS LOGIN (the set of social icon buttons below the blue login button) do the following when you press any of them:

Let’s say as Dana did, you use the Google button for speedy login, when you press that button it takes you to Google login where you validate your username and password to GOOGLE (not us) when Google is done verifying the authenticity of your account at Google, the system brings you back and asks you whether you already have an account with us and want to link it to your Google account or whether you are new and want to create a new account using your Google username and password.  If you click the latter option (presumably you are new to our websites), our system creates for you a new account, however GOOGLE does NOT share your password with our system, that remains stored in Google’s systems.  So now you have a new account with us , it has your Google username but it DOES NOT HAVE A PASSWORD stored in our system.  When you return later and  login using the Social Login button (Google in this example) it immediately logs you in because it retrieves the password from the Google system (WITHOUT SHARING IT OR STORING IT WITH OUR SYSTEM).

Now let’s say you try to login using our regular login (the blue Login button), our system recognizes your username but it does not have a password stored for you. When you use your Google account login our system will not and cannot recognize it.  Hence you get an error message.  You can remedy this issue by simply clicking the FORGOT PASSWORD link or PASSWORD RESET button.  Our system will send a password reset message to your mailbox and you can click the link in the message to assign your password of choice to your account in our system.  For convenience we recommend you use the same password that you use at your Google account.  Now our system has a password stored with your username for your account and you can login in with our standard login button.  But you could always speedily login using your social media button even without assigning your account with us a password.  Your social login access will always work, regardless of whether you want to login using our standard login button.  This is entirely optional and up to you!
