Excellent follow-up Mr. Maertin, best piece yet in the entire series on the Palmer tragedy. My condolences to all the victims, and worst of luck to all the hands in the pot who were and are responsible for this travesty. And from your segment, it seems any one of us could be next in the hospital or the morgue, that’s the most vile thing yet I have ever had the misfortune of learning about since I was old enough to read a book in secondary school. I am having trouble wrapping my head around what you put together for your readers. I dont know how any or all of us, concerned citizens, could tackle this thing – maybe that is what those agencies and state officials have done – bury it rather than deal with it.
what’s the point? Thousands of 60 minutes segments since the show launched and for the most part, we are still where things were when the show started, except for cosmetic wrinkles, a few politicians whose careers got sacked, the results are basically nill when you do the big picture arithmetic. And to make things worse, those people who produce 60 minutes are nowadays believed to be corrupt, beholden to special interests, advertisers’ accounts and budgets, professional lobbyists and industry’s hidden agendas. Dorothy has strayed far away from the yellow brick road, I am so sorry to burst your bubble like that.
👎 @BernieN’Jelly: haven’t seen you post much on any of these threads, you make a good point, up to a point. I always look up the bios of journalists and magazine authors if their article or segment intrigues me, or bothers me. Did you look this guy up or are you shooting from the hip? I understand where you are coming from, but sometimes a duck is a duck.
Serious question: How does a chocolate factory blow up in this way? I mean, is it something with pressure system that can lead to such detonations? I’d expect such a detonation from an arms- and explosives-factory or other rather dangerous things, but chocolate?
I was in Switzerland years ago and now come to think of it, we never hear of any chocolate factories exploding in Switzerland even though they are THE land of chocolate. I am at a loss in understanding this.
