THE BRIGHT SIDE

OF THE MOON?

Second rate effects (not shown in the trailers) at some point mire this action flick, while very little sparks between the two popular leads

and almost no chemistry make for a dull dynamic plus the backup/origin story is completely recycled Terminator lore, add to it some impossible scenes from real NASA point of view plus impossible laws of gravity, the basics of physics are horrendously violated even if you consider the film’s premise – and the entirety of its parts make for a strictly limited audience appeal adventure.

Scenes that are off the charts ridiculous

1) The core of the moon is a white dwarf star, which means not only on Earth we would have been detecting heavy, lethal radiation, ever since the invention of the radiation Geiger counter, but it also means over thousands of years of the Moon orbiting the Earth most of life on Earth would perish from the Moon irradiating our planet with the star’s dying radiation at close range.

2) The launch scene of the STS as a huge gigantic wave is about to pulverize the launch base is impossible in real life, a space shuttle with two boosters would never be able to punch through the massive water on top of it and any SLIGHT LATERAL FORCE would have spun the orbiter sideways and caused the rocket boosters to explode, so it is impossible for the launch vehicle to maintain launch trajectory and stability from the lateral force of the massive wave MOVING HORIZONTALLY as the rocket punches through the massive water wave.  Complete fantasy masquerading as realistic science plus science fiction.

3) The real mystery of the our advanced ancestors is far more puzzling as to how come they kept quiet for more than one hundred years, not sending any automated advanced tehnology to help humans advance rapidly knowing that the corrupt AI is roving the universe and Earth is the last bastion of organic intelligent life faced with massive deadly AI.

If, per the movie, the AI became aware of us on the 1960s moon landing, but the moon has been orbiting the Earth for thousands of years with our ancestors technology deeply embedded inside the moon waiting and looking out for life growing on Earth, it makes no sense whatsoever for it to wait until the last moment, when all life is threatened for it to start helping the astronauts who ventured deeply into the Dyson sphere.  Utter, complete nonsense and only says these advanced ancestors with tons of manufacturing capacity inside the moon (and a fleet of super advanced spaceships we could not build yet for thousands of years) are IMMENSELY STUPID.  That’s right our ancestors the super advanced race inside the Moon are super retarded and … get this, a twist of Loki … they are super procrastinators!

Moonfall or a Montage of Battlestar Galactica?

4) But wait there is more!  At the close range the Moon’s surface shaves and slides within yards of the Earth’s surface, this is basically classified as a planetary collision, several things would happen, even if say the Moon is not solid at its core and is only a shell while inside it is hollow and bolstered by the superstructural struts supporting the fake surface.

Even if that were true, given the size of this empty spheroid and it speed and spin (think a tubular piece of pipe can have the same structural rigidity and moment of inertia as a solid piece of round cylindrical metal), coming with that close of distance with the surface of the Earth, breaching our atmosphere all the way to our surface will cause many things to happen.

The force of the collision is not the moon sailing gently into our atmosphere and rolling like a basketball to touch the bigger basketball, there were would a massive momentum imparted to the orbit of the Earth and the Earth (not having any gyroscope and propulsion) would deviate from its orbit and either careen closer to the sun or further away from it, in effect when the moon loses stability and collides with Earth not only will our planet’s orbit destabilize but the entire solar system will automatically also destabilize because Mars, Jupiter and Saturn and all the planets orbiting the Sun are exerting tension and compression gravitational forces on each other in tandem with the Sun.

The Earth suffering this kind of massive collision would cascade into the entire destabilization of the planets in the solar system, a domino effect

Butt, but, but … But Hollywood filmmakers are too steeped into visual communications and never completed a basic course in physics from Hai School?  And NASA consultants or private industry consultants with technical expertise were too busy for this production with a mega million budget?

But wait, there is even more!!!!

Yes there is more, believe or not there are a couple more big black holes in Moonfall’s plot, but for now let’s just say

Live Long and Prosper
Dear Departed V’GER,

it seemed to us the journey inside the hollow moon had strong callbacks to 1979’s Star Trek The Motion Picture and the main catalyst, V’GER.
