    even in very rural areas, a gas pipe explosion can be dangerous, starting forest fires that can spread quickly if windy conditions exist or a dry season create the ideal conditions for a massive fire that can destroy acres of property.

    here is a story  in the Associated Press from a recent gas line explosion in July of this year in the state of Virginia, massive explosion and fire, witness was a driver passing along Interstate 81 who said “I could feel the heat and pressure from it, I’ve never experienced anything like that.” luckily no one was hurt on account the spot was rural, had it been in a populated commercial district or a residential area, fatalities or severe injuries would have been unavoidable

    I keep looking at the broken gas fitting in the picture from the NTSB.  I do not recognize the material.  It looks like garden variety PVC pipe with double wall, but I can not believe it would be PVC for a high pressure gas line.  I cannot believe the NTSB would do shoddy work after several months, there should have been more information released to the press.

    there was a mole on the factory floor, from Hershey’s Chocolates.  no no no better yet it was a former supervisor brought in from Nestle.
